Coffee Table Struggles

There is something about Halloween that brings out pure craziness in kids.  Seriously! I’m in store for a hectic day at school today, complete with costumes, a parade and a party.  With twenty five 4th graders.  Wish me luck!

But the one thing that calms me down is creating a cozy, comfy, kid-friendly family room for us to enjoy.  I posted the vision board a few weeks ago and things are progressing. I also posted an update on Monday about all of the little details and how things are coming together.  So far, the couches and rug are ordered.  The end tables were an awesome find on Craigslist and I began sanding them last weekend. And my fabulous chairs are already with us.  Paint color was chosen and the painter is secured.  Plus, Joe’s uncle is onboard for the board and batten garage entryway/faux mudroom.

The one major item I have yet to find is a coffee table.  After measuring and laying out where the couches will go using painters tape, we realized that we need a narrow coffee table so the room won’t feel overcrowded.  My search has been thorough and I have been scouring websites and catalogs and came up with a few ideas…but I’d really like to hear what you think.  Here are a few choices…

{Choice 1} This pretty one is probably my favorite.  It’s 28 inch width is ideal, and I LOVE the legs.  I think the detail is so pretty and I have yet to see another table like it.  It also comes in two shades of brown and is rather long – coming in at 52 inches.

{Choice 2} This one has more of an industrial vibe, which I like.  I love a room with good balance – rustic, glam, industrial and a little mixed metal.

{Choice 3} Due to how large to couches are, this one would really open up the space.  I always admired the look of a good lucite table and in the right place, they are perfect.  I’m just not sure how this one would withstand the abuse of a large family and five kids.

{Choice 4} This is another one that I would totally love in the space.  It would be perfect for an adult-only home or in a room that doesn’t get a lot of use.  You can never go wrong with glass and brass.  Such a classy and glamorous look.

{Choices 5 and 6} The next two are very similar.  One has four baluster post legs, and one is a pedestal table.  Both are super sturdy and solid looking, and both come in the narrow width I am looking for.  But, I am wondering if they will look too dark and bulky in the space.

For reference, here is the vision board again.  I originally thought a lighter table would fit the space, but now my thoughts are all over the place!!

Help!  I’d love to hear which one is your favorite!

Just like I love fine wine and dark chocolate, I'd love to hear from you too!
